Rapoza also had a two (2) year dating relationship with Raimondi.
In Rapoza's initial statement to law enforcement, she stated she was resting in Raimonidi's bedroom when people came to the house. She remained in the bedroom because her brother, Maurice Charest was there. Charest and Raimondi were arguing over money, the other men had left the home. She saw Charest pull a gun and shoot Raimondi twice in the head.
Maurice Charest was convicted for possession and receipt of a firearm. Charest appealed the conviction solely on the legality of the seizure of the firearm in residence, which wasn't the murder weapon. The warrant was ruled invalid because the affidavit failed to supply a sufficient nexus between the firearm and Maurice's home. Conviction was reversed.
Due to the recanted testimony of Rapoza, there were no convictions and the murder remains unsolved.
